We continuously evolve our ideas to
nurture a sustainable wellbeing approach
We put our people’s welfare at the heart of our organisation, supporting our employees to look after themselves and each other. We continuously evolve our approach to ensure we are nurturing a sustainable wellbeing approach, focused on how we help ourselves, how we work and how we engage with each other.
We continuously evolve our ideas to nurture a sustainable wellbeing approach.
‘Myself’ is about taking care of our people's physical and mental health and fitness. A key challenge in our commitment to support and improve wellbeing is how we define what wellbeing actually is. At ManpowerGroup we have used the three areas of wellbeing as set out by the World Economic Forum: Mental Health Support and Wellbing, Physical Wellbeing and Financial Wellbeing. We believe that all these areas are important and focus our support and activities equally among these.

In 2019, we partnered with Mental Health First Aid England (MHFA), to implement an accredited training course.
In 2021, we celebrated Brook Street’s 75th anniversary. In honour of Brook Street’s founder, Margery Hurst – an early advocate of supporting mental health in the workplace – we relaunched the ‘Margery Club’, a programme dedicated to supporting Brook Street employees and associates with their mental health.
Over 50 participants from within our organisation and extending to client companies have been trained to proactively recognise and support colleagues struggling with mental health issues.
These Mental Health First Aiders provide a first touchpoint of support, compassion and care, while de-stigmatising the conversation around mental health at work. They identify the symptoms of burnout and other mental health concerns, connecting employees with the professional help they need, and boosting overall wellbeing for the team.
This training has empowered employees to support each other. As the pandemic has amplified the mental health crisis, we are in a stronger position to maintain momentum and continue supporting our people.
Time to Talk is the nation's biggest mental health conversation in association with MIND.
The day is all about creating supportive communities by having conversations with family, friends, or colleagues about mental health. We all have mental health, by talking about it we can support ourselves and others.
Every year 1 in 4 of us will experience some sort of mental health issue and talking helps to create supportive communities, which can empower us to seek help if we need it.
We decided to open up the conversation within ManpowerGroup to help remove the stigma. We hosted an all day open Teams event facilitated by our Affinity Network leads and our trained Mental Health First Aiders.
150 attended throughout the day sharing their own stories and advice in the chat. Our event went so well that we have been asked to run them more frequently in the future.
