As a global organisation, ManpowerGroup is already setting high standards for our Planet, People & Prosperity and Principles of Governance Policies – the three pillars of our ESG strategy:
We are committed to reaching net zero by 2045
We were the first organisation in our sector to have our targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
We helped more than 2 million people globally into meaningful work in 2021-22
We trained 230,000 people via our global MyPath programme in the same time period
We were named as a best place to work for LGBTQ+ equality by the Human Rights Campaign for the seventh year in a row
We were cited as one of the world's most ethical companies by Ethisphere for the 14th time in 2023.
ManpowerGroup UK supports the worldwide organisation to meet its ESG goals. Across the entire UK operation, we are actively reducing emissions, cutting back on waste, expanding our training programmes, ensuring a safe and supportive working environment for all our employees and associates, and continually seeking ways to help some of our most challenged citizens to achieve a successful career by following an ambitious social values roadmap. All of this is against a backdrop of transparency, honesty and integrity – not as a mere marketing or publicity tool – but as a fundamental strategy.
We’ve cut our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 48% since 2019
We launched a scheme to encourage employees into emissions-free cars
We will have a zero-emissions vehicle fleet by 2030
We are improving the measurement of all GHG-producing activities
In 2022, we placed tens of thousands of associates into meaningful work every week
2,500 associates were in our MyPath training programme as of end of 2022
We launched the Women in Driving Development Pathway to improve gender diversity in a traditionally male-dominated industry
We achieved a further renewal of the MOD Armed Forces Covenant Employer Gold award – and have now held this prestigious honour since 2017
We have further renewed our status as a Disability Confident Leader and have now held this recognition since 2018.
The ManpowerGroup UK ESG Report 2023 is the first in a series. We will be regularly publishing updates and annual reviews to report our continuing ESG actions and progress.
Because we understand that the pathway to a greener, better future is a long road, but a road we must all tread together.
